CELEBRATING DIFFERENCES. HONORING ALL PEOPLE.

We rise united by our differences.

Listening to different ideas and viewpoints is a powerful, and fundamental, component of our education experience. The perspectives of our staff, faculty and students enhance how we learn and how we live, together.

DIVERSITY & INCLUSION

Everybody is welcome here.

”At University of Phoenix, we know that changing lives through higher education starts with creating a welcoming, inclusive atmosphere for all. Our work is made stronger by ensuring that a range of backgrounds and perspectives are represented within our community. We will always stand up for these values, and they will remain at the core of our commitment to providing underserved populations with access to higher education.”

MEANINGFUL CONNECTIONS

Every Phoenix is different.

Our faculty and staff create a vibrant and welcoming community of unique individuals united by a shared passion for lifelong learning and higher education. Our different races, ethnicities, ages, genders, and education levels enable us to connect with students – and each other – in profound and meaningful ways.

University of Phoenix brings people together to learn, work and succeed in their lives. We not only recognize the diversity of our students, staff and faculty — we embrace it.

EMPLOYEE RESOURCE GROUPS

Together, we celebrate our differences.

Bringing together individuals with shared interests and life experiences is one of the primary purposes of an Employee Resource Group (ERG). These employee-led, voluntary groups foster a diverse and inclusive workplace, increase employee engagement, and support professional and personal growth.

University of Phoenix is proud to be the home of five thriving and active ERGs. Through volunteer, networking, special events and celebrations, the Allies of Pride (LGBT), African American Council of Excellence (AACE), Veterans, Hispanic, and Phoenix Women Rising ERGs raise awareness about issues that are important to all of us. They connect people who may otherwise not meet to create new relationships and cross-disciplinary partnerships.

All employees are welcome to join any or all of our ERGs. We encourage you to learn more about these groups as well as their goals and missions.

Allies of Pride

Our Allies of Pride ERG supports the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender (LGBT) community; its mission is to transform the lives of our staff, faculty and students through acceptance, collaboration and education. Allies of Pride strives to dissolve stereotypes and myths about the LGBT community and it promotes equality in the workplace through community outreach and awareness events.

Veterans

Our Veterans ERG helps us all honor and recognize the sacrifices of our military men and women and their families. This ERG hosts networking events to develop and advance those in the military-affiliated community into leadership roles.

African American Council
of Excellence

The African American Council of Excellence (AACE) ERG champions a diverse workplace, marketplace and community. It also develops and advances its members into leadership roles by offering career development programs and by hosting networking events.

Phoenix Women Rising

One of our first ERGs, Phoenix Women Rising (PWR) supports career development and the advancement of women into leadership roles. PWR recognizes, promotes and encourages women with activities, events and celebrations.

La Fuerza

La Fuerza, the Hispanic ERG, launched in May 2018, making it our newest ERG! Its mission is to create and maintain an inclusive environment where differences are valued as strengths. La Fuerza also promotes creativity and innovation and the maximization of individual potential.

This perfect score represents our commitment to equality for all.

For the past three years, Minority Access honored University of Phoenix as an institution committed to diversity during its National Role Models Conferences. And in its annual “Top 100 Graduate Producers” report, Diverse: Issues in Higher Education recognized us for having graduated more underrepresented students with master’s degrees in Business and Healthcare than any other university in the nation.

HAWAIIAN ALLIES OF PRIDE WALK PROUD

“I stand strong with the University in its commitment to value diversity.“
